Summary/Objective:

The core elements of the Digicel 2030 transformation see it undertaking a complete re-design of the organisational structure; putting customers in control and making a commitment to deliver a superior superfast network experience.

As the Transport Capacity and Planning Engineer, you will provide level 2 technical support to the Fixed and Mobile Global Network Operations Centre and local field force. You will commission, and implement E2E solutions and services, capacity allocation, and maintaining headroom. Also you will be responsible for maintaining and improving network KPI’s, maintaining detailed design documentation, maintaining network health and stability, and complete action plans for future proofing growth through continual capacity management, design optimization and network surveillance practices.

Qualifications:_

  • BEng, BSc , National Diploma in a Telecommunications or Electronics/Electrical related field
  • (SDH-SONET / DWDM / GPON / PDH / IP) Fixed Fibre and Mobile Microwave network planning
  • Ability to work in a team or unsupervised with minimal direction
  • Strong IP/MPLS – SDH/SONET – PDH theoretical and practical implementation knowledge
  • CCNA/CCDP Essential
  • A high level of expertise with link budget tools (Atoll, Pathloss preferred)
  • Production of 2G/3G/4G Physical and Logical connectivity plans, Continual network design and route optimization
  • Knowledge of Ericsson and ZTE and/or Huawei transmission systems
